Information we collect
Through the forms: first name, last name, email, phone, business name, industry, years in business, province, type of financing sought, approximate amount and, if you provide them, a description of your project or the best time to call you back.
Through the forms in our Facebook and Instagram ads: name, email, phone, business name and your answers to the form's questions (for example the type of financing sought, the approximate amount and years in business). These forms are provided by Meta: your answers are sent to us by Meta, which also processes them under its own privacy policy. We use them for the same purposes as the forms on our website.
While processing your file, with your consent: the information and documents needed to submit a financing request, for example information about the business and its owners, financial statements or bank statements, credit information and the description of the equipment.
While you browse, only if you accept: data collected by cookies, audience measurement tools and advertising pixels. See the “Cookies, audience measurement and pixels” section.
Why we use it
- To respond to your request and communicate with you about it;
- To assess your need and present the possible financing options;
- With your consent, to prepare and present your file to partner lenders;
- With your consent, to measure site traffic and the effectiveness of our advertising;
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not use your information for other purposes without your consent, except where permitted by law, and we never sell it.
Cookies, audience measurement and pixels
The site uses cookies and similar technologies. Those used for audience measurement or advertising are turned off by default: they are only activated if you accept them in the consent banner.
- Essential: remember your consent choices. Always on, they are not used to identify you.
- Audience measurement (for example Google Analytics): understand how the site is used: pages viewed, visit length, device type and approximate location.
- Advertising (for example the Meta pixel, for Facebook and Instagram): measure the effectiveness of our ads and show relevant ads to people who have visited the site.
These tools may collect your IP address, cookie identifiers, information about your browser and device, the pages visited and the actions taken, such as submitting a form. This data is processed by Google and Meta, including in the United States, under their own privacy policies.
You can change your choices at any time with the “Manage cookies” link at the bottom of every page, or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Consent
By submitting a form, you consent to our using your information to process your request. We will ask for separate, explicit consent before sending your file to a lender. Audience measurement and advertising cookies are subject to separate consent, given in the banner.
You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to the person in charge; this may, however, prevent us from continuing to process your file.
Disclosure to third parties
Partner lenders: only with your consent, and only the information needed to assess your request.
Service providers: the site and the forms are hosted by Netlify. A Cloudflare tool (Turnstile) checks that forms are sent by a person and not by a bot; to do so, it processes your IP address and technical information about your browser. Requests are then recorded in our customer relationship management software. These providers only have access to the information needed for their service and are required to protect it.
Measurement and advertising tools: Google (Google Analytics) and Meta (Facebook, Instagram), only if you accept them.
Meta (Facebook, Instagram): when you fill out a form in one of our ads, Meta collects your answers and sends them to us.
Some of these providers process information outside Quebec, including in the United States. Before disclosing personal information outside Quebec, we assess, as required by law, whether it will receive adequate protection there.
Retention and destruction
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes for which it was collected, or longer if the law requires it. A request that did not lead to financing is deleted no later than 24 months after the last contact. Completed financing files are kept in accordance with our legal obligations, then securely destroyed. Audience measurement data is kept for no more than 14 months.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information: an encrypted connection (HTTPS) across the entire site, access limited to the people who need it, and providers chosen for their security practices. In the event of a confidentiality incident presenting a risk of serious injury, we notify the people concerned and the Commission d'accès à l'information.
Your rights
At any time, you may:
- Request access to the information we hold about you;
- Request that it be corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Withdraw your consent to its use or disclosure;
- Request that it be sent to you in a structured, commonly used technological format.
Write to the person in charge at antoine@valcruzcapitalgroup.com. We respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page. If there is a significant change, we will indicate it clearly on the site.
